Chris Suharso (1931-1999) was an Indonesian painter known for his impressionist works using various mediums such as watercolor, oil on canvas, pastels, pencils, acrylic paints and charcoal. He learned to paint self-taught and did a lot of exploration and experimentation with various painting subject matter such as flowers, animals, still-life, landscapes, markets, city corners, and themes inspired by the island of Bali.

Bali is an inexhaustible source of inspiration to explore, from ceremonies and rituals, scenery, sounds of Balinese gamelan songs, and the graceful movements of dancers. All the artistic spirit that radiates from Bali is a source of immeasurable creativity. His favorite subjects include depicting ever-changing elements, such as firelight, rain, and wind, as well as rituals that carefully blend soul and atmosphere.

His speed at work made him able to always maintain spontaneity in his work, something that later became his specialty.

Chris Suharso actively participates in a number of exhibitions in Indonesia and his works become a collection of art lovers from within and outside the country such as the United States, England, Singapore and Japan. Some of Chris Suharso's works are also in the collections of Art:1 New Museum in Jakarta and Neka Museum in Bali.
